FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW MANY DOGS CAN YOU WALK AT ONCE?

As stated in our insurance policy the maximum number of dogs to be walked in a group at any one time is six. Before walking dogs in groups we will assess each dog's suitability and be assured that each dog will be relaxed and happy during transportation and the walk. We give our full attention at all times to your dog and all of the dog's under our control. Your dog will only ever be allowed off the lead if prior written permission is obtained from yourself. Dogs that are allowed off lead should be called back to their designated dog walker reliably and immediately. If this is not possible, then dogs will be walked on lead. Dogs walking on lead  should ideally be trained to walk calmly, on a loose lead.

MY PET NEEDS TO GO TO THE VET, WILL YOU TAKE THEM?

Unforeseen incidents may happen on walks which is why our pet care professionals are always prepared for every eventuality to maintain the welfare of all dogs in our care. All of our expert team are Advanced Canine First Aid and CPR trained. They carry a Canine First kit at all times. Our team have emergency contact details of all owners accessible at all times. Prior written agreement is made with your appointed dog walker should your dog become sick or injured on a walk. This includes the authority to seek veterinary attention and the level of decision making agreed to by yourself, if you cannot be contacted. It will also confirm in which veterinary practice this treatment should take place.

ARE THERE ANY LEGAL REQUIREMENTS FOR WALKING MY DOG?

The safety, comfort, welfare and security of all dogs in our care is our highest priority at all times. It is a legal requirement for all dogs to wear a collar and tag with your name and address to aid identification if lost. It is recommended that this also contains Fetch Your Lead's details alongside your own. In addition it is a legal requirement that all dog's are microchipped and that our team have a copy of your dog's microchip number.

DOES MY DOG NEED TO BE UP TO DATE WITH VACCINATIONS?

Walking dogs in groups can result in exposure to infections and disease and not every dog is suitable to be walked with others. Therefore it is our duty of care to minimise the risk of disease spreading between animals. All dogs must be fully vaccinated including Kennel Cough, wormed and treated for fleas regularly, unless certified exempt by a veterinary surgeon.

WILL MY DOG BE SAFE WITH YOUR WALKERS?

The safety and wellbeing of all dogs in our care is our highest priority. We attend training on Advanced Canine First Aid and Canine CPR, Canine Body Language, Canine Communication, and Canine Behaviours. All of our Dog Walkers are carefully selected using the DBS System (Disclosure and Barring Service) where checks and reference checks are carried out before the Dog Walkers can carry out duties. All of our Dog Walkers are fully insured including public liability.

WILL I BE ABLE TO MEET THE DOG WALKER BEFORE THEY START?

It is essential that we carry out a free no obligation 'Meet and Greet' service before we walk your dog. This allows us to introduce ourselves to both you and your dog so that familiar face on collection. Here we can answer any questions you may have, discuss all of the dogs requirements, collect keys and alarm codes, complete registration forms, and be shown where the dogs belongings are kept. We believe the service greatly benefits the dog as we will not be seen as a stranger when entering your home.
